Research into Similar Products: Music Video Inspiration/Song Choice

I have decided that I am going to create a music video for my project because of my love for music and the way music videos are filmed/shot, etc and music videos themselves.

I started to look around at artists I would like to use for the music for my video. I have decided I will probably use a Lana Del Rey song because I love her voice, her songs and the style of all of her videos. I will aim to use similar effects in my video as she does in hers.

I screenshotted and saved GIFs of the video Young & Beautiful from The Great Gatsby as it's full of lovely effects and colours.

I love this first long shot of Lana because it brings her into view at the start of the video and allows an audience to feel a sense of mystery as she slowly fades in and then silhouettes of other people fade in after in the background.

I particularly love this shot because it shows the artists face. As this song was written for The Great Gatsby it is very 1920's in the way it is shot and the effects used. I like how Lana's make up is done to create a 1920's effect, as is her hair. I will feature a lead singer in my video as I think it's important to feature them to show the audience what they created.

I love this image because as Lana sings the lyrics of, "I've seen the world lit it up as my stage now", each of the violins are lit up by different coloured lights and for me this is very inspiring and I aim to incorporate this idea into my video if I finally decide to use this song.

This GIF of the video also shows the effects I would like to use in my music video and I like the movements and actions that the artist is doing and may think about actions like these when doing my music video.

I think that this song has a high possibility of being the one I would like to use due to the fact that is it so beautiful and if I was to do this song I would incorporate a 1920's theme into it.
